Supervision & Consultation

Supporting new and seasoned therapists through their professional and personal growth

A passion for learning and educating

I have been a lifelong avid learner. Anything that can expand my awareness, empathy, and understanding for others and the power systems in our world is what I gravitate towards. And for over five years it has also been my privilege to take on educator, supervisor, and consulting roles to support in contributing to the growth of others in helping professions.

My supervision and consulting style is highly collaborative, strengths-based, and connective. I take time to learn about you, your approaches to therapy, and goals for your practice. I have extensive experience supporting new therapists, seasoned therapists, those looking to advance their careers, and wanting to build their own private practice. I support by creating a safe space to learn and grow in. I believe that our work as therapists is strongly informed by our own personal backgrounds. I use my IFS-informed practice to encourage those parts of us showing up in the therapy room with our clients to be welcomed and brought forward in supervisory and consultation spaces together as part of our work. I utilize AOP, feminist, anti-racist, and decolonial approaches and lenses.

I also use the critical reflective practice approach. I find this useful for deconstructing power systems influencing our work, deepening our awareness of what informs our approach, and to build skills, build confidence, and move from judgements to curiousity to help foster learning and growth.

My supervision style is also informed by all the teachers, supervisors, and peers who’s knowledge has allowed me to grow and develop.

I meet clinical supervision requirements with the CRPO for qualifying RP’s.

Leadership, Consulting, and Supervision experience

I have directly supervised MSW students at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and at The Jean Tweed Centre. I held a long-term role as ‘expert hub member’ for Project ECHO Ontario: Addiction Medicine & Psychosocial Interventions through CAMH. In this role I collaborated with an interprofessional group and I provided case consultation, psychoeducational presentations, and teaching to participating health care providers across Ontario that included social workers, registered psychotherapists, physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, case managers, and peer support workers.

I’m currently part of an interdisciplinary peer consultation group that meets regularly and I attend trainings often to keep my clinical knowledge fresh and relevant.

In my roles at CAMH, Jean Tweed, and Addiction Services Thames Valley I developed group treatment programming for work shops, psychoeducational sessions, and material guides on topics related to addiction, mental health, trauma, & women and trauma from AOP, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care lenses.

We are all in this together and there is no therapist and no person immune to the inherent tragedies of existence.
